so this weekend, emily and i are at walgreens looking for clearance pool floaties... and you know how they just have tons of random stuff, that you can't imagine why anyone would need any of it, and how such a grouping of items could be selected with a corner drug store in mind. well, on the 'home decor' endcap, we run across this HOT LITTLE NUMBER:
$19.99 for a pink neon, pink oversized vintage alarm clock?? this had my name written all over it (well, not yet it didn't) ... but i was seeing potential... so we picked one up.
i have this thing for altering clocks... but i have not always had the best luck putting them back together, and since NEON was invoved i enlisted the help of my dh to get the job done. he took it all apart for me and i proceeded to cut a new mask of my logo. i painted the face hot pink and then placed the mask and coated the top with black spray paint. then i added a few little pink jewels to the flower and to dot the i's.
eric began the daunting task of putting the whole thing back together which requred some stripping of wires and re-attaching. all i know is that he asked if i had any electrical tape, and (i just reorganized a cabinet and happen to know right where it was-- that was a miracle). he got it almost back together, and realized that the hands were still red, so he painted them quickly HOT PINK...
so, i came home from my grocery store trip to it's pinky glow from my scrapbook room.
it's HOT.
i can't really figure out my fasination w/ pink neon... just totally doin it for me!

i took one shot w/ the flash and one without...
quincy wants it in her room... i can tell it's going to be a battle...

score!
i love what you did with it, too! that IS hot!
hey, just so you know...i've already used my spray paint and mask this week. ;)

that is the cutest! Clocks have been my latest venture - with ribbons and all kinds of frilly stuff, and it does take some "fiddling" with the hands to get them working right, but I am hard at work compiling a stack for Christmas gifts.
