i can remember dressing my dolls, and barbies... and even playing dress up myself... but none even come close to 'dressing up' this little quincy. today she had a 'princess tea party' to go to. on the invitation it said for the girls to wear a princess dress. well, quincy has a few to choose from, but they are all the really cheapy ones that just velcro in the back and are designed to fit them from age 2-10. anyway...she chose the one that resembles the "SWAN Princess". there is a movie and a barbie to go with it. the barbie even sings a song that is really annoying after you have heard it 5,000 times. so we get the dress on, and the shoes out... and it REALLY needs something... SO (mother of the year) i swing into action. hair up in a twist-bun (remembering the up-do's i did on friends in high school for dances). i tied a cute ribbon around her neck and didn't stop there. i broke out the MAC. yep... i put MAKEUP on my FOUR year old... what was i thinking. i just got these 2 most fabulous eyeshadows {MAC makeup is a problem. i love it.} so pink eyeshadows, mascara, blush, lipstick (topped with MAC lip glass of course). She looked stunningly beautiful.. (just ask her). i decided to let her wear these big CZ earrings and this cutie rhinestone choker of mine. we whipped on a quick coat of pink toe and fingernail paint and topped it all off with the classic dress-up tierra... and she was a PRINCESS. eric walked in just as we were leaving and thought that i'd really lost it. i think that i did... as i was snapping a couple quick photos, she couldn't even contain her hugest smile... i think more than anything, she loved being primped by her mom.
i think i had a little too much fun!

Great story and what a beautiful little girl you have. You did good. I bet she had a great time at the party, what little girl wouldn't have fun dressing up as a princess? Love the ring too!

I"m still singing those Disney songs and my daughter's 15 now (A whole new woorrrlllldddddddd). The game "Pretty Pretty Princess" is a must -- easy fun dress-up-y game that I still remember my husband w/an earring, necklace, etc. (part of the game!)

Just too cute! We had our own version of this on Saturday...and Samantha is 8! She was invited by her BF to Monkee Doos (they do the girly-girl makeup/hair/nails/dressup thing there). The 2 of them did the works. She had to hair all done, pink glitter nail polish, makeup. They both looked beautiful...and a little too old! LOL That's the mom in me, of course. They LOVED every minute of it all (can't blame 'em).
