i really do love to scrapbook...
especially when i have new stuff to play with... all my new memory trends stuff is finally arriving and i am busily creating samples for the booth and catalog! i am so excited. it puts me in such a good mood to scrapbook! it's so funny, cause i think back to when i was a teacher at memory lane. that was the best. i would spend all my time creating samples for my class... my whole entire focus was on scrapbooking. and i loved it. as time went on, and the focus was about books and then product or an article... it seems like the actual scrapbook pages becomes the lowest pryority. but that is really where it all happens. as i scrapbook, i feel so connected to the photos... to the subject of the page. i work up the biggest mess all around me..and i think that i even just escape reality for a little while. i remember a time when all i cared about was the technique... there was no focus on the actual "product" used. i think that of all things... as time has gone by... and i have tried all kinds of different things, the thing that i love to do MOST is teach on a local level.. at a LSS. with a smaller group of individuals, on a personal level. i have to find a way to do that again without opening my own scrapbook store and without having to travel. ok... i ate my lunch. i have 1 1/2 hours until the kids come home from school... maybe i can get one more layout done.

i was very fortunate to experience that teaching on a personal level back in April when you did mini-classes at the AZ convention crop - I think the fact that you do love teaching and sharing what you love with others really shows - you were so down to earth and wonderful and the project was a lot of fun - just wanna tell you thank you so much!

Well, I'll be visiting Arizona in a couple of weeks. You can teach me- a very small group.
BTW, I was at the Paradise Valley mall last year watching my son on the carousel, and I swear that I saw you zip by. I nearly yelled out, "Heidi!" But I'm not that big of a goober... okay, I am, but I still didn't say anything.

i know!!! you could have ongoing online classes w/ small groups of fans! that way you get to teach WITHOUT traveling - you could even do it in the comfort of your own home, (as long as the crowd was small), and yet thousands of people could watch. like an online martha stewart show....how's that!? *wink*

yep...the act of creating is so fulfilling. I think that is what we all keep coming back to. Beyond books, beyond techinique...just the act of creating something...that is what drives me. So cool to hear your perspective...I hope that you do find a LSS to teach at again...I know that I would fly there to take your class. :)
