i got this image in my in-box this morning from J CREW:
seriously... SO CUTE... only becuase i am PREGNANT do i see something that i really can't live without!!! how freaking cute are these? i am loving them with the sassy espadrills... sigh... i am having issues with the maternity clothes scene! typical... i know... there are so many different kinds of 'pregnant panels'. some really comfy, some ... horrible! take for example, the ones that have that stupid draw-string panel... you are supposed to pull it tight, then tie it in a slip knot type deal so that you can just pull the one end when you need to loosen it... (about a million times a day!) well, i have these totally cute camo cargo pants that i am loving... but they have that pathetic draw string deal, and i swear almost everytime, i in fact pull the knot tighter and am stuck trying to undo a horrible little KNOT, while i am DANCING by the toilet... sigh... and then there is these cute bermudas... SOMEONE BUY THEM AND ENJOY THEM for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those are ADORABLE!!! Are they GAP?? Please let me know :-) Good luck on your hunt for maternity clothes....I am sure you will look great in anything!

I remember those days. With my last pregnancy I found those pants with the adjustable waist (like they have at Gymboree now). I loved them! If you bought them right you could wear them the whole pregnancy. That's what you need to start looking for!

Great pants, who makes them? I'm sure you look super cute in you mat clothes with your little belly. Keep smilin' only a few months to go!

When I was pregnant I always found cute stuff at the Gap...the one at the Chandler mall has maternity clothes. And even Old Navy-the one at Scottsdale & Frank Lloyd Wright has a good selection. And the Pea in the Pod at Scottsdale Fashion Square has really trendy stuff. I always found that I wanted to try stuff on & not order online. Oh-sorry to say but I am all over the shorts from J. Crew-I'll be going to the mall today to pick them up!! Check out some of those places...I am sure there are bermuda shorts out there for you!! (oh and with some cute flat espadrills!! how fun!)

A couple of things on my mind Heidi...first, you might as well take this picture and journaling and make a page in your pregnancy journal 'cuz the story is too funny. Second, you are seriously so adorable that you would look 1000 times cuter in these bermudas, even with a pregnant belly, than I would ever look in them NOT EVEN CLOSE to pregnant, just old 'n' fat!

Heidi,
You need to stop buying pants with a panel at all. Go to BabyStyle (Scottsdale Fashion Square or Kierland) and get some below-the-belly pants. My baby is three months old, so styles are different (spring/summer for you vs. fall/winter for me), but man, every pair of pants I got there was the bomb! Seriously, I have a pair of yoga pants that I wore until the day I gave birth and they STILL work now because they were under the belly. Trust me, once you go under the belly, you will never wear a panel again! Plus, everything there is CUTE...not free, but not Pea In The Pod expensive either. Try them!! (Oh, and the baby clothes there are beyond cute as well). :-)

Wish I could help you out...really I do...but I'm in the same boat with ya! I am feeling your maternial pain right now with the clothes out right now. Little hit...Old Navy had some awesome camo prego pants with side stretch panels and adjustable straps. They are not supper comfortable but they will work for a few hours here and there. I will have to sport them for you in April at the Scrap Etc. event.

I was also going to mention Japanese Weekend maternity wear. Apparently, Japanese women prefer the "under the belly" maternity wear- no more panels and no more knots in the drawstring (I remember those moments too!)

I bet you'd love Tailored for Two over by the Chandler Mall. I got my SIL a gift card there and she loved the place. Way more trendy than anything in Mimi Maternity.

I might be a little too chubbette to enjoy the pants or the shoes, but I will fully participate in one of those adorable purses!

Just be glad you weren't pregnant before somebody cool started making maternity clothes. When I was pregnant with my soon to be 16 year old son, I wore my husband's clothes, big, baggy and dark guy colors. I felt soooo cruddy. And don't even get me started on the maternity clothes I did buy, yuck! Thank God the Gap stepped into the business, but I even missed that mark by about a year, sigh! Enjoy the cute stuff you can find, and I know you will find some. If not, maybe a SHE line of Maternity clothes.....hmmmmm...

If it makes you feel better, according to those two really rude women on oprah, capris and the strappys make you look short and fat, so you're doing yourself a favor by being PG.
Feel better now? :p

Try the pants at the Gap. I bought some jeans and khaki pants online and they are super comfy. They have the roll panel so you can choose to wear them up or roll it down for under the belly. I can't stand the others you mentioned. Who wants something tight on their stomach during pregnancy? LOL

i am hearing you! i am pregnant too and hate to even think about getting new clothes. i went shopping and ended up really discouraged. it's not fun to go shopping anymore. it looks like you got some good advice. i will have to read through it.

oh heidi,
i am so hearing you on the maternity clothing scene. i reckon it's even worse over here in oz. and maternity bras...don't even get me started. urghhh.
you better not start a SHE line of maternity wear...i'm sure it would be so popular you'd be run off your feet and then not have time to keep designing your fantastic scrapping supplies!
love sharon

Oh, those burmudas and shoes are adorable. I'm far too short to get away with shorts like that. But them shoes and purses are too too cute. I'll have to check out where I can find them.

Just enjoy your belly while you can. I never like my preggo self until it's gone and then I see pregnant bellies and it makes me miss it all over again! I'm trying to learn to live AND be content in my present moment. And no doubt, you probably look as cute as ever- pregnant or not! CIao!

I hear ya...I had that same issue with a pair when I was PG, and one time in my dire need, I hate to use scissors and cut the darn draw string. It was worth it...not to mention better than having to clean the bathroom rug. :)
