I am exhausted…
I know, I know… the blogging has been on the serious LACKING side! I am getting complaints! LOL!
I have been ‘away’… usually, it’s very difficult for me to go ‘away’. I am not really a good “vacationer”. I stress about being away, worry about what is going on; have a hard time relaxing and enjoying myself… and my mind is usually still ‘at work’. I am happy to report that this time- I really have been ‘away’. I had been looking forward to this family vacation to UTAH for many reasons:
1. still feels like home.
2. COOLER weather
3. 4th of JULY up at the CABIN in Oakley, UT- this is probably my favorite place on earth. quite a contrast to NYC, my other favorite... but i don't think that anything makes me happier than being here.
4. we had tickets to the RODEO in Oakely- it was the 71st annual Oakley Rodeo- and the first time i had been to the new 'arena'... it's getting so 'big time'. seriously, has been a highlight of every year of my life.
5. we were going to take the kids to Lagoon
i love this place. my kids are true thrill seekers. they had a blast. i maintained the role of designated photographer... and frankly, it's a little miserable watching everyone have so much fun, and you just watching...but they had an absolute blast!
6. I got to see my niece Aspen who has so rudely grown and is now 3 mo
7. homemade peach icecream
8. no internet service, no cell service at the cabin
9. a whole week with my family
I had a wonderful, relaxing and delightful time!
Um… Lagoon is SO MUCH funner when you are NOT PREGNANT. As are all other above mentioned activities! However, I did get out of all kinds of things as well… and everyone was pretty much happy to just let me sit around and be a spectator (and hold Aspen). We came home yesterday, and I have to say- it’s nice to sleep in your own bed.
Woke up this morning to the beautiful view out my bedroom window and headed down to Tucson. It’s about 2 hours south and em and I did 2 store visits down south! We had so much fun today! I will admit, I am exhausted. We did the drill: demo’s and an on-the-spot scrapbook page… it really was fun! Fun groups of ladies… cute stores. It is so much fun to see the different looks and feels and personalities of each store.
I got home precisely 12 hours later and my family was waiting for me to go get ice cream. Sounded great to me! So we load up and head down to 31 flavors- and quincy says, ‘my tooth feels weird’…and all the sudden IT WAS OUT!!!
Gasp
I THOUGHT I HAD ANOTHER YEAR before I lost her baby teeth that are perfect and beautiful! She isn’t my baby any more! I wasn’t even phased when the boys lost their teeth… but this is quincy we are talking about. My heart sank…she was THRILLED beyond belief! She was giddy with excitement. Colton noticed me telling Eric that I was not ready for her to loose teeth- and he quickly reminded me ‘don’t worry mom- you have another baby soon!’ sigh. I can hardly believe it. I didn’t even know it was LOOSE! I am totally traumatized.
she hasn't even started kindergarten yet.
sniff.
I am going to bed. I have SO much to accomplish in the next week! i am looking forward to a wonderful sunday! i teach RS tomorrow... and the lesson is on keeping journals. right up my alley.
Hopefully everyone got the newsletter… it went out yesterday and showed off the 3 ‘water photo’ contest finalists… you will find that I need help choosing the WINNER, so be sure to vote for your favorite!
Ok, going to bed!
