Wow… I have been an exceptionally bad blogger… especially if you consider all the stuff that has been going on!
There is a quote in the ‘she’ book (by kobi yamada- www.compendiuminc.com) that says ‘she realized that she was missing a great deal by being sensible’
Last Monday, I decided to throw all my ‘sensibility’ out the window and cruise over to San Francisco for a few days of inspiration shopping, and 2 nights in a heavenly bed! I have had a friend that’s been staying with me… chanel… she is from Brisbane, Australia.. this was her first time to the US, and I just felt like she had to see a little more than my backyard! So much has been going on all month, and things are just not going to let up until… well, will they ever let up? And so precisely because of that question, you just have to decide to live a little… throw all caution to the wind… be spontaneous and make a decision about ‘what you want to remember!’
Speaking of wind... that wind there is pretty biting!
(i made this cute welcome banner for Chanel... i mean, she came all the way from AU)... i had to share it cause it was SO fun to make and is a great use of my playing cards!
Keeping in mind, that after the caution goes to the wind, you have to come back to reality and face the music!! Which is exactly what I was left with for the remainder of the week! I walked in the door to a violence threat at my kids’ elementary and an insect diorama that was due for Cory.
I seriously can not believe it’s april 23.
I am officially about 28 weeks pregnant…went in for my check-up where you have to drink that sugary drink to see if you have gestational diabetes… got the rhogam shot and all that good stuff… and I just can’t believe that I am already that far along! Well, I CAN because I feel extremely pregnant… but at the same time… it’s going by fast. I am in that catch 22 of you want the baby to come cause you don’t want to be pregnant anymore (after 2 years of this especially) and not being ready for the baby to come! … it’s a ready or not kind of deal!
here is a current shot of baby capri! for the grandma and grandpa that live just too far away!
it's stunning how fast she is growning and learning and how much fun it is to watch! she thinks she is so big... learning to feed herself bits of bread, bananas and scraping apples with her 2 bottom teeth! it's killing her that she can't walk, and last night was brave enough to step twice before she relized that she was on her own... dang cute! she is so happy... i can't even express what a great influence her happy, sweet spirit is in our home! i can't wait to have 2 emitting that precious, Christ-like innocence! such a huge blessing.
So this week is all about serious catch up and starting to face some serious product and creative escape deadlines! (did I mention that I can’t believe april is almost over)??
And first weekend of may brings National Scrapbook DAY! I will be traveling to Philadelphia to present a couple of kits on QVC May 4/5-ish. And spilling over a couple days into NYC- (love it this time of year… and I’m already over there…)
Well, I think it was like dec. or jan., I was invited by Recollections to create some classes for their NSD celebrations. They invited myself, Tim Holtz and Ali Edwards to participate in a ‘designer challenge’… we were each asked to create 3 classes, a make-n-take, 2 layouts for the crop that day and 4 demos that would be available in the stores on NSD. They sent me a bunch of their exclusive spring collection of paper- that was designed by Daisy D’s… and some ideas of what they thought would be good ‘heidi’ classes… I have to show you how cute the projects turned out…
This one is a totally technique driven class... lots of fun fresh ideas to alter and elevate all my favorite prodcuts... all inside this altered "writer's block"
this "inspiration" book is full of little pockets, and places to write down thoughts and keep track of stuff that inspires you. it's so fun, it's made out of 'foto folders' and is just the perfect size and shape to tuck in your purse or (chuckle, diaper bag) to maintain those fleeting ideas!
This is actually a bit of a 'she' journal mini-book. it turned out so cute! i love it... it's a book made of envelopes, so there are tons of places to write, and reflect... or it's even a great gift! would be great for mom's day! if you can get in to one of these classes before the 12th! i believe that the classes will be offered for 6 weeks! I think they are awesome! They are packed with techniques as well as uses for my new products. So if you live anywhere near a Recollections, go in a check it ouT! tim and ali both did an awesome job coming up with cool classes!
ok, well, that seems like a really long blog post, i really should stay on top of it better! it's a great record of events in my life! i keep having to refer to it to remember when something took place, or what i did for something! i am happy i have it to review! and i think its the only way some of my fam keeps track of me! thanks to everyone that voted for Kristy Glass on that Real Savvy Mom's deal! i think she said on her blog that she'll know of any outcome by the 30th.
hey- have a great monday! i LOVE mondays! it's been such a good one so far!
