Yesterday was an exciting day!
Miss Quincy FINALLY lost he front tooth! It’s been loose since we got here and she fell off the couch while chasing with the boys and smacked her face on the floor (after REPEATEDLY being told to stop!!! Of course)… you know, it’s kinda sad when the baby teeth go and you know that some awkward ‘permenant’ teeth are on their way in! she was SO excited. it was so funny cause the boys tried to ‘pose’ as the tooth fairy, and steal the tooth, so she had to go to some extreme lengths to hide her tooth until the REAL tooth fairy could find it!
Also, EMILY ARRIVED! Her flight came in around 3:30 in the afternoon. She flew United, and had a great flight, after she had to RUN to make her connection in San Fran. Capri and I took a taxi to pick her up… it was great to see her! And so fun to have her here. She’ll be here for a few weeks, so we’ll be able to do all kinds of cool stuff, plus it’s just great to have an extra set of hands to help out around here!
Of course, Emily was willing to bring us anything that we needed…and number one on my list was a hand-mixer. I have been spoiled at home with a Kitchen Aid since I first got married, but I decided not to bring it, and just figured it would get a hand mixer here. Well, I haven’t been able to find one. SO she brought me a new one she just picked up at Target (never take Target for granted), and it’s a NICE one! So, we promptly put it to use on mashed potatoes… I made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, tomato/cucumber/onion salad and green beans. It was a delish dinner… (hello, doesn’t that sound like I know what I am doing??? I’ve come a long way, believe me!) then… to really put it to the test, we made choc. Chip cookies! They turned out pretty good! I need to figure out the temp settings with my oven here… but it was great to eat a warm choc chip cookie for the first time in 6 weeks! It was a great 6-week anniversary of being in Beautiful Beijing!
