EMAIL ME!!

i loved reading all the comments about what you had TONS of and what you wished you had more of!! i think that we can safely say that we all share the LOVE of paper!! and certainly we can all agree that we need MORE TIME to create... oh, and GLIMMER MIST!  i must agree w/ Shimelle that we must USE what we have! i think that most of us can relate with that 'hoarding' or 'collecting' problem! i also have a little stash of things that i just can't bring myself to use! her class is only $15... check it out!

the question usually is- what 'jump starts' your creativity!? what gets you motivated to create? ... i think that i have been asked that question many times in different interviews- and some of my answers have been:

*fresh photos *new supplies *new magazines* window shopping*

but i have some new answers that have TOTALLY influenced the way i create, as well as MOTIVATING me, and offering me NEW possibilities...  it is these 3 things that i will be featuring in the next 3 weeks of LIVE webshows:

1. DIGITAL BRUSHES   2. SILHOUETTE  3. GLIMMER MIST!!

WED. MARCH 3:  we will be talking AND demoing something that will feel a little SCARY to some, if not most of you... Janet and Rhonna will be here and the 3 of us will be giving you a little 'digi' glimpse!!  i know, i know, but before you FREAK OUT... just plan on watching. when you can see what you can do with a 'brush'. ... you will die!  or you will think that you have died and gone to heaven!

  i will never be a purely 'digital' scrapbooker... but the EXTENSION that the digital skills have given me to my paper crafting has been ....well... 'magical'... Rhonna will be showing off a couple EASY anyone-can-do techniques... and Janet and i will be sharing some projects that we couldn't have done without the magic of a brush! - oh, and wait until you see the MAGICAL set of brushes that are ALL NEW! it will amaze, and inspire!! watch for a couple more details to prepare for Wed night!

WEDNESDAY March 1oth:  back by overwhelmingly popular demand, we'll be having another House of 3 meets Silhouttte show.. and this time we'll be giving you the 411 on the JEWEL kit! how you can add amazingly detailed jewel art to your projects (paper and beyond)... we have a few other little tips and tricks we'll be sharing that will CONVINCE you that you need a silhouette!  having the silhouette has transformed the way i think about creating... i just have sooo many more possibilities! i LOVE it!! we'll show off NEW House of 3 art, and ideas that will get you off and running!

WEDNESDAY March 17th:  ok, so Glimmer Mist has also transformed the way i think as i create. it's so different to control the COLOR part of the creative process! it's been SO MUCH FUN! so, i have been working with Tattered Angels to put together an AWESOME package deal that will include a killer deal on a complete 'glimmer kit' and then i will be teaching a FREE LIVE CLASS and from one kit, i'll be teaching 2 projects in a SPECIAL hour and half show!! Today was a whirlwind. The good kind-because I did finally get my hair cut and colored! It’s been FOREVER, and I really, really needed it. thank goodness!! This afternoon, I went to work Glimmer Misting a very happy little project (with an unexpected twist) that I am going to be TEACHING on my LIVE web show in March! It’s so perfect for SPRING! (who’s ready for spring?) …I can tell you that the people of Salt Lake City, Utah are ready! We woke to a dusting of snow this morning, and people were still walking around w/out coats! …pretty much ‘willing’ spring to come.

tonight's funness...

Tonight’s webshow was so much fun for me… cause I was really teaching! That was cool! How fun is that? we got to have a FREE class… all over the world! The technology is mind-boggling! It’s just such a cool way for people that love this hobby all over the world to come together! Who would have thought? Obviously, we can’t pick a perfect time for everyone, everywhere- so we just go with it… and then when you can, you can go and watch the recorded version, and create right along with me! I know it’s hard to read the chat, and ask and answer questions during the show- so just do what works for you! it’s there to inspire you and get you CReATING! I love all the emails telling me that the show is getting people   c r e a t i n g!!  that makes me thrilled!

 

So as I mentioned, tonight I shared STEP by STEP a great mini-book CONCEPT. By ‘concept’ I mean, that it’s a great idea for making all kinds of projects.  To prove my point, I even created a second project this afternoon using the same mini-book concept:

Basically, I made a book out of envelopes- I thought what a great way to give a bunch of b-day cards… or keep b-day cards… or even just collect stuff and store in this book to give away! LOTS of ideas for this…i had this in my mind all day, so i made this about an hour before the show!

i used my favorite plastic paper from Bazzill for the front and back cover- how cute are those mini-banners on this!? (and on EVERYTHING!)

as you can tell, i have been a bit obsessed with the ruffle thing! i LOVE the tulle option...

i also used my NEW Crepe Ribbon that is coming out from Tattered Angels next month- for this project i used my 'Electric Blue' Glimmer mist  for the ruffle and the 'celebrate' that i cut w/ my FAVORITE SCRAPBOOKING TOOL: the Silhouette!!

fun to add a little tab, i wrote "just for you"

this gives you a great idea of how the binding looks, and the clear covers

 

this view shows off all the different layers-if you saw the construction in the webshow, it might make a little more sense to see these photos.. and just imagine all the different things that you can stuff this book with!!

i put all the different kinds of envelopes that i had on hand in this...

  

and if i didn't like the size, or length of the envelopes, i just trimmed them!

i had fun adding in a few embellishments too! love the BLING!

 

i just love it when i can spin so many outcomes from one basic starting point! that is what i feel like this book concept is all about! check out the show to see how exactly to put it all together, and LAUGH a little!! AND who wouldn't LOVE, LOVE that for their special DAY!

This week’s LIVE WEBSHOW is going to actually be a FREE CLASS!! I am so excited, this is the first time that I will actually be teaching a project STEP by STEP live and streaming!!

I will be teaching you how to make an ENVELOPE keepsake book- perfect for storing collections of memorabilia, or even just compartmentalizing memories… I think it’s a  perfect thing to put into our birthday celebration, because I think it’s a good idea to create one of these for each of the people in your family, or those you love- and celebrate their birthdays… and throughout the year, simply gather or file away photos, or other memories in the envelopes and when that birthday rolls around- you simply present it to that friend/child/parent/boss etc. etc. and there you have a wonderful collection of laughs and a peek through the last year.

Here is what you need if you would like to be actually CREATING right along with me in the comfort of your own kitchen counter:

 

2      6x9 chipboard or cardboard pieces (have these pre-cut!)

2 12x12 cardstock in a coordinating color (I used hot pink!)

5-7  6x9 envelopes (could be the yellow ones w/ the clasp, or white)

1  Pink Party polk-a-dot background (8 1/2x11)

1  bunting background (8 1/2x11)

1  pink party mini banner printable

12” string

15” crepe paper (coordinating or white)

heidi swapp ‘electric blue’ glimmer mist

sand paper

adhesive

trimmer

crop o dile

glue stick

brayer

bone folder

**hot glue gun… this makes this project quicker! If you want to try it!

 

*if you have a silhouette… you can cut out a 6 ½” CELEBRATE banner word (House of 3 word) and a 6” HAPPY word.

 

Tips:

*You can use a cereal box or cardboard box for the covers. 

*You can find the 6x9 clasp envelopes at the office store- take a jump drive to the office store at the same time, and get your House of 3 backgrounds and banners printed.

*you can use ANY of the House of 3 backgrounds… or anything you have on hand as well!

 

Ok, so the plan is that I will be teaching this as I would any class in real life! Step by step. I am not going to have this stepped out how I would for like a 5 minute segment on a craft TV show… I am going to be cutting, gluing and creating in REAL TIME! I’ll be sharing my tips and you’ll see my process from beginning to end. This will be a bit of an experiment… so plan on joining us! if you are there, be sure to log in to Ustream, and you will be eligible for the giveaways.
