hello from Salt Lake!! yep, back home, and hopefully on the fast track to 'back to normal!'  i am so happy to be home! i am really mostly looking forward to sleeping in my bed! i love that warm welcome that i get from the kids!! it goes something like this, "yay, MOM!!!... did you bring me a present?".....lucky  i did!!

our journey home was flawless! we made it to the airport like super early, and when we got to Munich- we got bumped up to business class for the ride to Chicago!! i couldn't have been happier! so we had a fabulous flight. 

i don't think i can eat pizza or spaghetti for awhile! and i am feeling super tired and looking forward to a good night's sleep! --i need a fresh start tomorrow. i have so much on my plate for the remainder of the week, including my kids' SPRING BREAK! need to think of something FUN to do! 

Today the newest collection from House of  3 went up on the site, and it' so gorgeous! i a LOVING it all!! so i will be sharing a creation or 2 during the LIVE webshow tomorrow night! i can't keep my eyes open, so hopefully i'll be up with an early start in the A.M.!!

last day...pics

Last day, and hopefully- it really is the last day! our flight is early, early and we are packed and ready to go! What a day we have had… I just have to share these photos- you know, usually I think that I can sorta capture at least the feeling that I have in a place… but today- I feel like I was unable to do what I was seeing with my eyes any kind of justice with my camera! –and while these are some great photos, the reality is so much more amazing and beautiful and indescribable! I have never seen anything like this!

 

The day started with a happy surprise! We went up to breakfast and our new friends- Jane and Stu were there eating breakfast as well! We all got a good laugh!  The view from the fifth floor of the hotel was spectacular and the backdrop for breakfast! (that is the view above)-and that is Mt. Viscuvious that erupted on Pompeii in the background

I really wanted to visit the Island of Capri- you know, because I have a ‘Capri’!! i think I have said this, but I like to tell people that she is named from the Island and not the pants! LOL. All we have heard is how beautiful it is there…so we got on a ferry and took the 20min boat ride across the sea.  Capri is a robust, and delightfully CUTE place! 

There were tons of people even though it’s not ‘high’ season. Tucked throughout the most tiny narrow streets are the most amazing and inspiring little shops. I kept seeing these little shops that make sandals and adorned them in all kinds of jewels! I really wanted some but they were 75 euros… and I am sure there are some just as cute at target for summer!

After we walked up and down and explored, we found a spot and ate our last pizza. It was delicious. Fabulous.

 

It was time to hurry back to Sorrento and met up w/ our driver who was hired to take us on a bit of a tour.

We didn’t know where- or what – but you could tell that for some reason he knew we would love what he had to show us. and indeed- he was right! What he had to show us was spectacular! And these photos are my best attempt…

Last story, and then goodnight..

We got to our less-than-spectacular hotel here by the airport, and about 7:30pm decided that we needed some food- so we talked to the front desk, and they recommended a spot- but it’s not safe for us to walk there… and so they called and asked them to come and pick us up. one of the cooks shows up in a fiat that is rocking the loud music and we took off. Not too far but definitely through a rough neighborhood. We got to this place- we were the ONLY ones there to eat- there was no menu- he just offered us some options in Italian and wendy and I just looked at each other and laughed! They made us a Caprese salad and Brushetta… and some weird pasta plate that I was really too full to eat, and then the crazy cook took us home. He told us his name was ‘Cheeto’. … what a great adventure to end on! And now we sleep… excited to head home!

Really, just like I was when we were in France, it’s a shock how close everything is! I am a mere 2 hour drive from Rome right now. I mean, I’d drive 2 hours to go to a MAC (makeup OR computer) store! Let alone ROME!  After the event ended, wendy and I packed up as fast as we could and we changed hotels and went for a bit of a walk about. We had no idea where we were going until we came upon that pink  church that I had photographed a couple days ago! We had no idea we were back in the same place (how is that for internal navigaion—eric, where are you when I need you?)!! SO I am blogging from a very beautiful view of the Sea (well, it’s dark outside, so I can’t really see the sea).

 

SO, just as a wrap up for the Paper and CO event:

 

Lory Bucaria is a delight… she signs every one of her emails with “BIG KISSES” and I didn’t know that she was serious!(i am bringing home her pink pants... i'll have to post a pic... she traded me for my yellow converse!!) Her team were the sweetest, hardest working girls ever!  Can you imagine trying to satisfy and attend to over 50 women speaking a total of 5 different languages?  That is a little crazy!  if you click HERE you can check out the very talented instructors that were at the event. it was SO cool to see all the different projects, so different and inspiring. i was wishing that i was taking the classes, rather than teaching!

I feel like I have new friends all over the globe, as well as meeting up with some familiar faces!  I genuinely appreciated those that I got a chance to really talk to and get to know! And don’t think I am not going to take you all up on your offers to let me come and stay in your homes when we  come and caravan across Europe!! (wink, wink)  i loved that so many had been watching the webshow and are total House of  3 lovers!  I also taught the House of 3 Countdown Kit as well as the "Once in a Lifetime" classes- - it's so great that i can share the House of 3 magic... and they can GO AND GET it alL!! and not wait for it to ship, or risk it being 'out of stock'... i guess we just need to translate the site of House of 3 and our blogs to Italian, French, Hebrew, Danish, Norwegian etc. etc.  (girls, lets get on that!)... lol  - we also gave every person a Heart kit... and they were SO excited! can't wait to see what you girls do with them!! (do show!)

My FAVORITE part of the experience was to watch people that had NEVER touched a bottle of glimmer mist start out their “Glimmer Mist 101” class timid as church mice, and turn into these confident charismatic glimmer mist pros!! It’s amazing to be in that class and watch how it inspires people! And they just LOVE their inky fingers!

 

 

this is the binder and kit BEFORE you start! and you spray about 25 pages/techniques during the class- these were the colors included, and although there was no pink in the set, i got along!
 

and i have to admit, i was a little nervous about teaching an 'acutal' hands-on REAL life Glimmer mist class- it's easier on the web show!! LOL... but i loved it! it was SO fun to show people how to do amazing things!
 

 

Here are a few photos from our afternoon wandering… beautiful! And tomorrow promises more amazing sights as we visit Pompeii and a few other scenic vistas along this Italian coast! I think that I got a little sun on my cheeks …mmm feels good! ..night!

classes...

alright, here are some photos of me in action! lest anyone questions whether i am here WORKING or not!! i am teaching 3 classes all twice. these are some of the most kind and warm women anywhere! it's been so much fun to teach- a little bit of a challenge w/ the languages...but all good.

this morning was the glimmer mist 101 class...(taught by Wendy) and it's the first time that i have taken this class- it's amazing because you get an actual 3 ring binder- full of blank pages w/ description of techniques written at the bottom of the page. --we learned 25 different techniques, and while i think they have already shown them to me, it was just SUCH an eye opener to go through every single technique one at a time!

everyone in the classes was AMAZED and SOO excited about GLimmer Mist...some that had never used Glimmer Mist before- and some that have a little, but have never really played with it- it's just cool to learn so many things you can do with it... and while we all have the same colors, same instructions - EVERYONE gets a totally unique and personal result. it's awesome...

so just to give you an idea exactly where i am: a map!

ever since i had my little Capri- i kinda dreamed of going there... i like to tell people that it's 'Capri' like the little island in Italy... instead of 'capri pants' or 'capri sun' ... although, Capri has been just recently introduced to "capri sun" drinks and we have explained to her that they are "Capri-Sun"... so she thinks they are all hers- and Connor will say, "no, this is my Connor-Sun"... cute.

welcome to Sorrento!

So I got quite caught up on sleep last night- but the sleeping in did nothing for my jetlag!! That’s for sure! We had today to wander a bit and get some set up taken care of… we were in pretty good shape, so we left in search of pizza!  this is Wendy Senger... my partner in crime for this

trip... she is the owner of Tattered Angels and my international travel buddy!

 

It took us a bit (lack of navigational tools, as I have been banned from using my iphone GPS internationally) – we wanted to go to Sorrento- which is a village about 20 minutes away by train. We set off in search of the train station. After a round about walk, we thought- lets just take a taxi- the taxi driver quoted us 50 Euros to get to Sorrento… and we got right back out of the taxi! We finally asked for directions and found the train station! And it was a good choice! It only cost 2.80 Euros for both of us to travel on the train! It was a beautiful train ride, and Sorrento was a delight! It’s just beautiful! It only took a sec to locate a pizza place and I must say that it was FANTASTIC! Sooo yummy. Wow. The crust was so perfectly light and the sauce was so flavorful!  It helped that I was completely starving!

 We topped it off with Gelato (delish)! Once we were fed, we did tons of walking and exploring.

and look at those cliffs!! the colors are amazing here too! can you see the red bus driving up the hill in the distance? i mean, is this real?? - it is... but there are people that have to deal w/ this everyday!! LOL

ok, this is a funny story- i thought i'd take a photo of this guy, and i am across the street, and he is like trying to get our attention to come and buy flowers... so i look over, and snap the photo, turned and totally tripped over a ledge in the cobblestone and almost totally fell on my face. he was laughing out loud!

wow.. check out this church! now, this is my kind of church!!

I LOVE it!. I was in awe looking at the aging on the buildings and stone walls and streets! WOW!  Sorrento is just right on the ‘sea’ (it’s not an ocean)…but there is no shore line- its just cliffs… so the hotels and buildings are built just right along the edge of these cliffs. Spectacular! 

So at the moment, Italy is having regional political elections, and so seriously people are slapping up political ads everywhere- they are totally you know like piling on over the tops of others…. 

All day we just see cars pull up and slap new posters over the ones that had just been put up by another team… and then you know, we are laughing at the vans driving around w/ the loud speaker and the big faces decorating the vans! Classic…

 

Tomorrow kicks off w/ all the classes, so I am sure it will be fabulous!! Women have been arriving and we have been getting acquainted! I just love making new friends and getting to know people from all over the world. It’s such a blessing in my life! Makes me SMILE!!

 

I am missing my littles! – I got to skype with them last night for a few minutes! Everyone seems to be coping well and doing great! Sending love to my fam! Missing you guys!! Thanks Kates… and Rane … HUGS!!! (ahhh... they are so cute! i love skype so much!)

no doubt there will be many more stories and adventures tomorrow! i'll try to be a good photo-taker! i am usually not very good when i have to teach... so we'll see!!
