Well, happy Monday!
I am feeling good! well-rested and ready to rock!
I think that it should be mandatory for people to go on vacation! You just feel so much better afterwards! It’s like you can actually think!
It’s the first day of summer for me really- since my kids got out as we were leaving to go to Cabo, and we were gone all week! SO it’s a whole new ball game today! We sat last night and had a big family planning meeting to get schedules aligned and figure out chores and the kid’s responsibilities… and how I am going to juggle their play and my work! It’s a trick for sure! But I think we have a good plan. Everyone is so happy and in good spirits as summer kicks off. We even wrote a long list of ‘boredom busters’ that should work for at least the next couple of days, right? The good thing about the kids getting older is that they can handle more responsibility and can help out more! Of course, then we have to get into compensation- but I need the help! so I am happy about it! and I made a huge discovery today as well! If I get up early (gasp, heaven forbid!) then I get extra hours of work. I am finding it harder and harder to work at night- the kids won’t go to bed! (I wonder where they learned that!??!)
SO…my new plan is to try to get up early, which means go to bed early! It’s a whole new concept! Imagine!! Ok, trying desperately to get things pulled together around here!
Here’s to a great week! i have 3 scrapbook pages to get ready for Wednesday night!!!

well, if you have never been to Cabo San Lucas... you should come! for sure! it's fabulous... for us, it's only a short 2 hour plane ride... same time zone, and perfect weather every single day- which means a guaranteed sunburn! (for us first-time-in-the-suners)... we are having a blast... and done absolutely NOTHING to prove it! acutally- i shouldn't say that- i burned through my book in the first day (Hunger Games) and so i had to download the second one (Catching Fire- both by Suzanne Collins)... great stuff! it's just really a much needed time to relax!! i am going to be so man at myself for not taking more photos.. but i just can't be bothered! that is a sign of a true vacation!!
HOWEVER... even though i am here having a totally blissful, relaxing holiday... THE SHOW MUST GO ON!! which means that your friend, and mine.. our very own Janet Hopkins will be broadcasting tonight and sharing SUCH A GREAT idea for 3 new scrapbook pages... (are you keeping up?) ... plus a SUPER FAB, adorable page that you will want to scrap-lift for sure!... so DO NOT MISS tonight... serioulsy cooL! i will be here chatting from Cabo! so i will not be missing it either... i only wish that i had my scrapbook stuff here, so i could create...i am so excited for what she is showing you! it will be an eye opener! COOL STUFF...
so, until then, i'll be at the beach...
keep in mind, the LIVE SHOW starts at 7pm Mountain Standard Time...

HOW AWESOME IS THIS?? (school field day) - we didn't have anything NEAR this fantastic on our last day of school when i was little! although, i can TOTALLY remember the feeling that you get on the last day of school... just being SO filled with the anticipation of SUMMER!! no waking up early, no school, long days! in my memory, it ranks up there with Christmas Eve! man, all day i have been feeling like i needed to break out the "high school musical 2" or "Grease" - but i have resisted... although i am sure that Friday night "GIRLS MOVIE NIGHT" may be singing some "HSM".( i am a little embarrassed to say that i love it!) LOL. i think that i might be a little jealous, that i don't share the same sense of relief and joy that my kids are feeling- no one is giving me 3 months off from my responsibilities! but (sigh) those were the good old days!-- it's official! SUMMER IS here for the Swapp family! YAY!!
today... we did something that i have fantasized about since i was a little girl... something that is SO SUMMER to me, i can hardly stand it... and something that since WHO KNOWS how long we'll be right here in UTAH, we have to live it up!! WE GOT SUMMER PASSPORTS TO LAGOON!!!! AHHH!!! yay!! i LOVE roller coasters! the faster, scarier, more upside-down the better! and as fate would have it, my offspring love it as much as i do!! Lagoon is the local amusement park- it's so classic! it's got a water park, and upside down rides and cotton candy- the works! and i love that now we can just go for a couple hours and ENJOY it all summer! THIS is so exciting for me (grinning ear to ear!) i am a dork- so now i have admitted that i love HSM and Lagoon!! (no open toed shoes, that gets you every time!)
SO, how are you celebrating summer?! hopefully you are dreaming, anticipating and planning some fun adventures! hopefully you are planning on doing some scrapbooking of those adventures along the way with Janet and i!! did you see what Janet made today w/ the Summer Printable kit from last night? super cute! you can get the Summer Printable kit HERE to make one too!
